CPU going wild when selecting, renaming AVI files..

CPU usage shoots up when right-clicking, opening or renaming .avi files. This is because windows explorer queries file index and if not found tries to build index info. I googled and came up with the following link, which works fine !

http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=68&pgno=1

Here is the solution -
1. Open up regedit.exe.
2. Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.avi\shellex\PropertyHandler
3. Delete the "Default" value which should be "{87D62D94-71B3-4b9a-9489-5FE6850DC73E}"
